It’s Nice to Meet You
I’m Anne Thorsen, a registered dietitian nutritionist specializing in nutrition and weight loss coaching for adults who want to age well and live a healthy and active lifestyle.
My Philosophy
Whether your goal is to lose weight, prevent a chronic illness, or decrease your medication, getting healthy isn’t about giving up the foods you love. It’s about finding the right diet and lifestyle that works for you.
My Background
I grew up in Illinois, in a large family who loved to cook — and it stuck with me. I’ve been writing grocery lists, planning menus, creating new recipes, and preparing meals for my family and myself since I was in high school.
It was actually my younger sister’s health journey that led me to become a registered dietitian. Her kidneys failed, and she needed a transplant. While she was on dialysis, I met with her dietitian to learn more about what and how to cook for her. I was amazed at what I learned about food and its effect on her kidney disease process. It felt so good knowing that the meals I was preparing for her also helped manage her symptoms.
I’m also living proof that the right diet and a healthy lifestyle works. Years ago, motivated by trainers at my gym, I lost 30 pounds by changing my eating habits and adding more exercise. I still work hard to maintain a healthy weight, and yes, it gets harder as I get older, so I understand the struggles that my clients deal with.
Becoming a registered dietitian was the best decision I ever made!
My clients inspire me and bring me joy every day. Nothing makes me happier than inspiring others to adopt a healthy lifestyle, get creative in the kitchen and start feeling better! I’m blessed to be able to work in a field that I love so much and to help others realize their health goals through nutrition and weight loss coaching.
The Fun Stuff

I am easy to spot in Montrose, Ouray, or San Miguel counties because I’m always outside with my 5 dogs!

Like so many others in Western Colorado, I love the outdoors and I’m an avid hiker. (As a client you can even opt to move our sessions to the trails or book supplemental activity sessions.)

I traveled for a year around Southeast Asia (a foodie’s dream!). I visited Thailand, India, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.
